Abstract:
Comparative analysis of the buckling forces and post-buckling deformations of compressed
SLGS simulated using the standard MM/MSM methods was performed. The standard MM
method was implemented in the homemade PIONER FE code using the DREIDING force field
with a modified parameter set. The MSM method was implemented in the MSC.Marc code using
a straight Bernoulli-Euler beam element with geometric and material parameter sets calibrated
for graphene. The computer simulations show that the implementation the MSM method
presented in this paper provides an accurate evaluation of critical buckling forces and their
corresponding buckling modes as well as post-buckling deformations of SLGSs.
