Abstract: The detonation velocity and acceleration ability of an aluminized emulsion explosive sensitized by Expancel polymer microballoons were measured. The density of the investigated explosive compositions was 0.2–1.4 g/cm3, and the mass fraction of the aluminum powder was 0–0.29. The acceleration ability was measured using the cylinder expansion test.
