Abstract: In this work we study a 4D Qflow scanning protocol used in medical magnetic resonance imaging. Post-processing of the DICOM images acquired from the MR scanner allows one to reconstruct time-dependent three-dimensional velocity field. We show that with MR velocimetry it is possible to determine whether it exists and study the swirling (helical) characteristics of the flow in a tube modelling a blood flow in circulation vessels.
