Abstract: It is shown that in principle corundum ceramics with close to theoretical density and a defect-free polished surface with low roughness can be obtained by means of SPS using finely dispersed, unaggregated, magnesium oxide modified electrocorundum as a starting material with alumina as a nano additive.
