Abstract:
We obtain the pictures of vortical liquid flow inside a droplet placed a heated surface. The flow arises due to simultaneous action of a nonuniform evaporation at the droplet surface and the Marangoni effect. Calculations are carried out with the lattice Boltzmann method taking into account the conductive and convective heat fluxes, the evaporation and the condensation, and the temperature dependence of the surface tension. The influence of the droplet shape (which depends on the contact angle) on the possibility of the arising of vortical flows inside the droplet is shown.
