The investigation into the behavior of iron oxide (FeO) under high pressures and temperatures holds significant interest in diverse domains of condensed matter physics, including geophysics. This study presents the results of modeling the impact of shock wave (SW) loading on FeO up to pressures of 1000 GPa, taking into account phase transitions. The sample is conceptualized as a combination of low- and high-pressure phases in this field. The computational model employed in this research assumes that the constituents of the material maintain thermodynamic equilibrium during the process of SW loading. An equation of state for the low-pressure phase B1 was obtained up to 70 GPa with an isothermal modulus of elasticity K0 = 153.0 GPa and its derivative in pressure K0′ = 3.40. An equation for high-pressure phase B8 was also obtained from 70 to 1200 GPa, with K0 = 138.0 GPa and K0′ = 4.0. This method provides a precise means of characterizing the shock wave loading of FeO, even in the vicinity of phase transitions. The validity of the simulation findings is validated through comparison with experimental data and computational results obtained by other investigators. The approach under consideration proves to be particularly valuable for analyzing similarly intricate materials.
