Abstract: The diffraction of oblique surface waves on the edge of an elastic semi-infinite plate floating on the surface of a fluid of finite depth in the presence of a current with linear velocity shear is studied. An exact analytical solution of this problem is constructed using the Wiener–Hopf technique. The frequency dependences of the reflection and transmission coefficients and angles are investigated at various angles of incident waves and the shear gradient.
