Реферат: We study the propagation of internal waves in 3D geometry in presence of a sloping wall. First, we consider a classic trapezoidal quasi-2D setup filled with a linearly stratified fluid to get internal wave attractors. Energy is injected into the system by a wave generator of small width compared to the width of the setup. We show experimentally and numerically that reflection due to Phillips' law is responsible for formation of quasi-2D attractors spanning the whole width of the tank. Second, we consider a long and narrow tank having an inclined bottom to reproduce a 3D canal. The energy is injected in the along-canal direction parallel to the slope. The wave energy ends up forming 2D internal wave attractors in planes that are transverse to the initial propagation direction. This refractive focusing mechanism prevents indefinite transmission of internal wave energy along canal, what may be important in oceanographic applications.
