Abstract:
For an adequate description of the fluid motion in various conditions of heterogeneous structures, it is
necessary to use the embedded continua approach. In the paper, an overview of the fluid flow models using such an
approach is presented: 1) flow in fractured porous media, 2) flow in the zone of cracking during the production of
hydraulic fracturing formation, 3) infiltration of mud filtrate during drilling with the formation of low-resistivity zones, 4)
thermal water flow in closed mode, 5) impulsive movement of blood in the tissues of living organisms. The effect of
elasticity of the arterial and venous vascular systems on the distribution of pressure and its measurement during the pulse
movement of blood in the superior human limbs was investigated.
