Numerical modeling of chemically reacting gas flow in the propulsion chamber using the Navier-Stokes equations has been performed. Contrary to the common situation, the gas moves from the center to the periphery of the chamber rather than in inverse direction. The model is based on the conservation laws of mass, momentum, and energy for unsteady two-dimensional compressible gas flow in case of axial symmetry. The transport processes of viscosity, thermal conductivity, and turbulence were taken into account. The heat release due to chemical reactions was described within the framework of two-stage model of chemical kinetics for the mean molecular mass of the gas. The variations in mass concentrations of species in the chemically reacting gas mixture were determined by using Fick's law of diffusion in the multicomponent mixtures. Fuel and oxidant were fed into the chamber separately and the heat release due to chemical reactions was largely dependent on the velocity of turbulent mixing of the gaseous species. The possibility of formation of a detonation in the chamber was shown numerically. The failure of detonation can occur due to temporary cessation of reagents supply to the chamber due to large pressure values in the reaction zone. At small lengths of the combustion chamber, incomplete burning of the fuel may occur with its subsequent outlflow in the atmosphere.
